Simulation of LID Practices in Coastal Area Based on PCSWMM

- A regional stormwater management model was developed using PCSWMM software to analyze the effect of LID practices and the tidal phenomena on stormwater runoff and waterlogging in the planning lots of the reclamation area in a coastal city. The results showed that, with tidal effect, the reduction of the runoff volume and the runoff peak flow in the LID facility was 53.77% and 24.02% at 1year return period, and 48.08% and 23.41% at 5year return period, respectively. For the free outfall scenario (no tidal effect), the reduction of the runoff volume and runoff peak flow in the LID facility was 52.38% and 24.02% at 1year return period and 46.69% and 23.41% at 5year return period. It was found that the LID practices could mitigate the waterlogging condition for coastal tidal situation, and the tidal phenomenon had an effect on outflow volume and waterlogging.
