- A method for determination of 5 selenium species in seawater by hyphenated technique of high performance liquid chromatography and inductivity coupled plasma mass spectrometry(HPLC-ICP-MS)was established. The separation of 5 selenium species was operated by the Hamilton PRP-X100 analysis column within 8 min with mobile phase of 30 mmol/L citrate and pH 4.0. When the injection volume was 100 μL and He collision cell mode was used in mass spectrometry, the detection limit of SeCys2, MeSeCys, SeUr, SeMet and SeO2-4 were found to be 0.42, 0.70, 0.65, 1.63 and0.31 μg/L, respectively. Moreover, all of the linear correlation coefficients were more than 0.998. The method was simple, rapid and with remarkably high sensitivity, which could be developed for the determination of selenium species in seawater.
