- Abstract:
- In order to make COD and TN in the effluent meeting first grade A criteria specified in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002), a wastewater treatment plant in a chemical industrial park in Ningbo City was upgraded by using a combined process of denitrification biofilter and ozone catalytic oxidation. The pilot-scale test with treatment capacity of 0.1-0.3 m3/h was carried out to optimize the operational parameters. When filtration velocity was 2-4 m/h and C/N ratio was 5-6, the removal efficiency of TN in the denitrification biofilter could reach more than 85%. When dosage of ozone was 65 mg/L, and gas-liquid ratio was 1.5 ∶1, COD removal efficiency of the ozone catalytic oxidation process was the best, which could be stably decreased from 117 mg/L to less than 40 mg/L. COD and TN in the effluent of the combined process were always no more than 40 mg/L and 5 mg/L, respectively, which all met the first grade A discharge standard.
