- According to the difference of acidity, alkalinity and turbidity between raw water from Dongjiang and local reservoirs, based on years of experiences in a waterworks, a scientific and systematic scheme of mixed use and related engineering transformation measures were also formulated to solve the problems caused by water quality differences between the two sources. The practical results showed that with mixing ratio of Dongjiang branch and local reservoir water source of 4 ∶6-5 ∶5, the pH and turbidity difference of two sources water quality can be effectively improved. By stabilizing the raw water quality, the stability of effluent quality is further improved. The average effluent pH value is stabilized from 7.28-7.68 to 7.43-7.57 and the average effluent turbidity was stable from 0.11-0.21 to 0.10-0.12 NTU. Besides, the dosage of PAC, lime and hydrochloric acid decreased significantly by 22.3%, 57.7% and 100% respectively, and the pharmacy cost increased by 26.1% compared with the previous year. The above results show that the measures taken by the waterworks to deal with the “double water source” problem of significant difference in water quality are scientific, feasible and effective, which may provide relevant technical reference for peers.
