- In the existing standard Technical Code for Urban Utility Tunnel Engineering (GB 50838-2015), the provisions on the design length of the utility tunnel fire compartment, although guarantee the utility tunnel fire safety, they restrict the construction, installation, operation and maintenance efficiency of the utility tunnel. Practical experience indicates that the fire compartment design length has a certain extension space. From the perspective of personnel safe evacuation, this paper puts forward utility tunnel evacuation safety standards, and builds a utility tunnel personnel safe evacuation simulation model based on the improved social force model, analyzes environmental parameters of fire, such as visibility and flue gas excitant, influence on the safe evacuation time, and summarizes the relationship between the fire compartment design length and the evacuation time. The results show that the fire compartment design length can be extended to 437 m under the influence of smoke irritation.
