- Abstract:
- The existing facilities of Zhuyuan No.2 wastewater treatment plant in Shanghai can not adapt to the new environmental requirements and the effluent quality needs to upgrade to first grade A standard. A reduction and upgrading scheme was adopted in the project due to limited construction area in the plant. The treatment capacity was reduced from 50×104 m3/d to 30×104 m3/d, and the original facilities were upgraded according to the treatment capacity of 30×104 m3/d. In the upgrading project, the existing facilities were fully utilized to maintain the existing biological tank main frame structure unchanged. By changing the water flow direction, the original closed double-sludge A/O process was adjusted to an enhanced nitrogen and phosphorus removal AAO process. Considering the bioreactor effluent quality and intensive design, an advanced treatment process consisting of micro-flocculation and filtration was newly built to ensure the effluent quality meeting first grade A limitations of Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002). In the deodorization upgrading project, the biological tank was covered with a moveable cover plate to minimize the impact on the existing structure and facilitate the operation and management. Multistage deodorization facilities with biological filter as the key process were constructed to meet the latest local standard emission requirements of Shanghai.
