- The CASS process of phase Ⅰ and phase Ⅱ projects in an urban wastewater treatment plant in northwest China did not meet the discharge standard in terms of water quality and quantity. By increasing the decanting depth, optimizing the installation of the mixer and adjusting the operation cycle, a transformation and upgrading project for quality improvement and quantity increment was completed at low cost and high efficiency, and the effluent quality stably meet the discharge standard under the premise of making full use of the original engineering site, no stop and reduce of the production, and no change of the original process. After the transformation, dosage of the external carbon source is reduced by 33.33%, and the annual reagent cost is saved by approximately 2 million yuan, which greatly reduces the operating cost of the wastewater treatment plant, and provides a reference for upgrading and transformation of wastewater treatment plants in northwest China.
