- Abstract:
- Anaerobic ammonia oxidation (Anammox) technology has the problems such as difficult process control and unstable operation in engineering application. The key operational parameters at different stages of a full?scale A2/O process treating anaerobic digestion liquor in a swine farm of Hebei Province were optimized to improve the stability of the process, increase the percentage of Anammox denitrification, and improve the efficiency of biological denitrification. In the first stage, the dissolved oxygen (DO) in the aerobic zone was controlled to 0.3-0.5 mg/L by turning on the dual aerators, and the additional carbon source in the influent was reduced gradually. The removal efficiencies of COD, ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen by the A2/O system were 86%, 89.9% and 66.6%, respectively. In the second stage, the DO in the aerobic zone was controlled below 0.1 mg/L by starting only one aerator, and the addition of external carbon source in the influent was stopped. The removal efficiencies of COD, ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen by the system were 81.9%, 91.95% and 83.48%, respectively. The energy consumptions per unit nitrogen removal and wastewater treatment were decreased by 38.5% and 53.4%, respectively, which were from 4.18 kW·h/kg and 1.93 kW·h/m? in the first stage to 2.57 kW·h/kg and 0.90 kW·h/m in the second stage. High?throughput sequencing results showed that Candidatus Brocadia was the only Anammox bacterium in the A2/O system, and its relative abundance increased from 0.76% in the first stage to 1.85% in the second stage. Fluorescence quantitative PCR analysis showed that the relative abundance of genes hzo, hzsA and nirS related to Anammox increased by 1.78, 42.25 and 2.05 times in the second stage, respectively.
