- Abstract:
- Linjiang Waterworks of Shanghai and its water supply system were targeted to investigate the influence of the combined UV/chloramine disinfection and chloramine disinfection on the quantity distribution of microorganisms. The results showed that the efficiency of the combined UV/chloramine disinfection was higher than that of the single chloramine disinfection. Under the current process conditions, the combined UV/chloramine disinfection could inactivate all culturable bacteria. However, chloramine disinfection could not inactivate all culturable bacteria (97.71%-99.98%). The average HPC in the chloramine disinfection pipe system increased 128.78% more than that in the combined UV/chloramine disinfection. It increased 8.94% in the secondary water supply system. Compared with the chloramine disinfection, the combined UV/chloramine disinfection could reduce the microbial growth level in pipe network to a certain extent, but could not change the law of microbial growth in pipe network. The microbial level in the secondary water supply system was still significantly higher than that in the main pipes. In the secondary water supply modes, the direct water supply mode had the best water quality, and the pool-tank water supply mode had the worst water quality. Under the same water supply mode, the combined disinfection in waterworks had better control effect on microorganisms in secondary water supply than the chloramine disinfection.
