- Heterotrophic nitrification-aerobic denitrification provides a new idea for the innovation of coking wastewater treatment. An efficient heterotrophic nitrification-aerobic denitrification strain HNAD4 was isolated from the activated sludge of coking wastewater treatment plant and identified as Pseudomonas sp. by 16S rRNA. The nitrification, denitrification and simultaneous nitrification and denitrification (SND) characteristics of strain HNAD4 were analyzed, and the ability of the strain for actual coking wastewater treatment was investigated. The best nitrification performance was obtained when the following operating conditions were adopted: sodium citrate as carbon source, C/N ratio of 15, temperature of 35 ℃ and pH of 7.0. When NO3--N and NO2--N were used as mixed nitrogen sources, the two nitrogen sources could be simultaneously removed, but NO3--N was preferentially used in denitrification. When NH4+-N, NO2--N and NO3--N were used as mixed nitrogen sources, the priority of nitrogen sources utilized in SND process was NH4+-N, NO3--N and NO2--N. When the actual coking wastewater was treated, the removal efficiencies of NH4+-N and TN in O1 tank of A/O1/O2 process increased by 46.45% and 33.14% in the experimental group compared with those in the control group.
