- The design capability of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in an industrial park is 3.0×104 m3/d, which uses the combined process of hydrolysis acidification tank, improved Carrousel oxidation ditch, high efficiency sedimentation tank, active sand filter, and ozone contact oxidation tank. The effluent is in accordance with the first level A criteria specified in the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002). According to the requirements of the local authorities, some of the effluent indicators need to be upgraded to the level Ⅴ surface water quality standard. Based on the current conditions, the aeration and pushing modes of the Carrousel oxidation ditch were modified, and the accident pool and the advanced treatment process of ozone catalytic oxidation and biological activated carbon filter were added. Meanwhile, the carbon source supplement was optimized. After the completion of the project, the operation effect of the system was stable, and the effluent indicators met the design requirements. The retrofitting project construction investment was about 2 607.3 yuan/m3, and the unit operation cost after the retrofitting was 1.28 yuan/m3, while the operation cost was increased by 0.455 yuan/m3 on account of the retrofitting.
