- The sponge facilities were summarized to systematically guide the formulation of peak runoff control scheme. Various facilities were generalized by storage tank, and the contribution of different rainwater storage capacity and modes to the peak runoff control was analyzed by simulation. When the storage capacity increased from 14 mm to 22 mm, the peak runoff reduction rate increased from 40.0% to 71.3%, the peak runoff reduction effect was very obvious, and the occurrence time of peak runoff was delayed by 4.8 min to 14.8 min. Among three storage modes, namely whole-course storage at the source, whole-course storage at the end and partial storage at the end, the storage volume required for the whole-course storage at the source was only approximately 50% of the whole-course storage at the end, and the storage volume required for the partial storage at the end was only approximately 22% of the whole-course storage at the end. Based on this, reasonable suggestions for the arrangement of the storage tank were proposed. In addition, a pipeline flow process curve was deduced to calculate the storage volume in areas without available models.
