- Abstract:
- To conduct an empirical study on the rainfall runoff control performance of low impact development (LID) facilities, the rainfall runoff model of a drainage area in the sponge city pilot area of Licang District, Qingdao was constructed based on MIKE URBAN and coupled with the two-dimensional surface overflow model. The model parameters were calibrated and validated by measured data of six rainfall events, and the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient (NSE) was all greater than 0.65, indicating that the accuracy of the model was satisfying. The runoff control performance and waterlogging control performance of LID facilities were simulated and analyzed under the design rainfall scenarios with return periods of 1-year, 5-year and 10-year. Under the designed rainfall scenario with return period of 1-year, LID facilities had a significant control effect on the total runoff volume and peak flow, which reached the goal of sponge city construction. However, with the increase of rainfall intensity, the control rate of LID facilities decreased, which also confirmed that urban waterlogging control required to be coupled with gray and green systems.
