- The Pearl River Delta water resources allocation project draws water from the Xijiang River and transports it to Nansha District of Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen under pressure, which is a large-scale cross-regional water transfer project to optimize the allocation of water resources in the east and west of the Pearl River Delta. For the project of the allocation of water resources in the Pearl River Delta, we analyzed the following aspects: the current situation and planning of the raw water supply system in the water-affected area, the distribution of water demand, the risk of water pollution, and the impact of the salt water line on regional water collection. On this basis, from the perspective of water supply engineering, this paper introspected the water supply line and water transmission mode, and proposed the scheme of gravity water transmission in deep tunnel, which is based on the combined supply of East and West rivers. While ensuring the project objectives, the scheme can better connect the urban raw water in the water receiving area with the water supply system. The scheme can prevent the movement of salt water line, which is caused by water intake in the main stream of West River, and can also reduce the negative impacts on water intake in downstream cities.
