- The Lussel Stadium, which has hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 World Cup, is one of the most important stadiums during the tournament in Qatar. Based on the analysis of factors such as geography, climate and roof structure characteristics, the FLUENT software was used to simulate the roof drainage of Lussel Stadium. When there was a hundred-year rainfall event, the deepest water depth of the inner gutter on the roof was approximately 0.12 m, and the most unfavorable water depth of the outer gutter was approximately 0.15 m, suggesting that the water depth of the gutter met the design requirements. The deepest water depth in the bottom collection box was approximately 1.6 m, which was less than the current design depth of the collection box and met the demand of roof drainage. For rainwater drainage of super large building roof, the feasibility of the design was verified by the simulation, which also provided a new idea for the rainwater drainage design of large roof in the future.
