- Abstract:
- A novel advanced phosphorus removal process packed with suspended medium layer was developed, which achieved advanced removal of TP and SS in effluent from the secondary biological treatment without adding coagulant PAM, improved the ecological safety of effluent and promoted the utilization of sewage resources. The start-up mode and operational performance of the system were investigated, and the advanced removal mechanism of phosphorus in effluent from the secondary biological treatment in the suspended medium layer was discussed. When the surface loading rate was 0.8 m3/(m2·h) and PAC dosage was 270 mg/L, the advanced phosphorous removal system was successfully started in 4 hours. When the PAC dosage was reduced to 27 mg/L for stable operation, the PO43--P in effluent from the suspended medium layer unit was less than 0.2 mg/L, and the TP and SS in effluent from the sand filter was less than 0.2 mg/L and 2 mg/L, respectively. The novel advanced phosphorus removal system adsorbed and retained excess chemicals aided by the suspended solids, and achieved the retention of metal salts by reducing the sludge discharge, so as to form a reaction zone with high metal salt concentration to complete the efficient removal of low concentration phosphate, and improve the utilization efficiency of phosphorus removal agents.
