- Halogenated nitrogenous disinfection by-products (N-DBPs) in drinking water are a class of disinfection by-products with the characteristics of carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutations. The concentration level and distribution of halogenated N-DBPs in drinking water worldwide is investigated and summarized. The pre-treatment technologies and detection methods of haloacetonitriles, halognitromethanes and haloacetamides are summarized and analyzed. The main precursors and formation mechanism of three kinds of halogenated N-DBPs are systematically compared. The future research direction of halogenated N-DBPs in drinking water in detection analysis and generation control is proposed.
