- Abstract:
- The design scale of a municipal wastewater treatment plant in Taihu Lake basin is 10×104 m3/d. The key processes of the plant are CAST and AAO, and the construction is divided into four phases. The upgrading and expansion project is based on the potential analysis of the current structures belonged to the phase Ⅰ-Ⅳ projects and the goal of ensuring the mixed effluent quality meeting the discharge standards. The updrading and expansion design is carried out by considering the aspects such as utilizing well operating treatment facilities, optimizing the biochemical units of phase Ⅱ and phase Ⅲ projects, renovating some idle structures, demolishing the Lipu tanks belonged to phase Ⅰ project to release the space, constructing new advanced treatment facilities, coordinating and connecting different phase projects and so on. The pretreatment processes include coarse grid/pumping house/fine grid and finer grid/aerated grit chamber/primary sedimentation tank. The secondary treatment processes consist of modified Bardenpho biochemical sedimentation tank (new phase Ⅰ project), modified AAO and secondary sedimentation tank (phase Ⅱ and Ⅳ projects), and AAO process and secondary sedimentation tank (phase Ⅲ project). The advanced treatment processes are denitrification filter/high speed air floating tank/ozone contact tank (new phase Ⅰ and phase Ⅱ projects), and denitrification filter/contact disinfection tank (phase Ⅲ and Ⅳ projects). After mixing, part of the effluent enters the ecological buffer zone for further treatment before being discharged into the river. After the completion of the project, the scale reaches 12×104 m3/d. The wastewater treatment plant operates well and the effluent quality meets the surface water quasi class Ⅳ standard.
