- Abstract:
- Ferrous ions (Fe2+) were added into the influent to investigate the effects of different ferrous ion concentrations on the treatment performance of Anammox reactor when the influent COD concentration and hydraulic loading rate were 90 mg/L and 0.1 m3/(m2·h), and the microbial community in the reactor was analyzed by MPN method and high-throughput sequencing, so as to reveal the effect of Fe2+ on nitrogen removal efficiency of Anammox biofilm reactor in the presence of organic matter. When Fe2+ concentration was 0.15 mg/L, the reactor demonstrated removal rate of 82.15% for TN. With the increase of Fe2+ concentration to 1.5 mg/L, 3.0 mg/L and 4.5 mg/L, the removal rates of TN increased by 4.00%, 6.89% and 7.77%, respectively. The MPN counting results showed that the number of denitrifying bacteria at the bottom of the reactor increased with the increase of Fe2+ concentration. The results of high- throughput sequencing showed that the abundance of Firmicutes, Planctomycetota and Denitratisoma in the biofilm of the upper part of the Anammox reactor increased from 7.80%, 4.87% and 4.59% to 10.69%, 5.73% and 12.25% respectively when the influent Fe2+ concentration increased from 0.15 mg/L to 3.0 mg/L. Specific concentration of Fe2+ improved the nitrogen removal performance of the Anammox biofilm reactor under organic matter inhibition by promoting the growth of microorganisms capable of organic matter degradation, Anammox and denitrification in the reactor.
