- The design scale of the upgrading and expansion project of a wastewater treatment plant in Suzhou is 62 500 m3/d. The project is carried out in the existing plant area without new land requisition, and the effluent quality is required to meet surface water quasi Ⅳ discharge standard. The multi-overlapping process including anaerobic-anoxic/rapid purification of sewage using sedimentation integrated rectangular airlift loop reactor (A2/RPIR) overlapping rotary filter, magnetic coagulation sedimentation tank overlapping equipment room and dosing room, and office building overlapping disinfecting tank was applied in the upgrading and expansion project. The multi-point wastewater intake technology was employed to renovate the existing biochemical tank. After the project was put into operation, the effluent quality stably met the discharge standard. The index of land use of this project is 0.237 m2/(m3·d-1), which provides a new idea for the upgrading and expansion of wastewater treatment plants without new land requisition.
