- As an innovative drainage concept, the surface drainage system utilizes ecological measures to organize the surface discharge of rainwater. Constructed separately from the underground sewage pipe network system, it not only enhances the ecological benefits of the drainage system but also fulfills urban water construction and management requirements. This includes fully implementing rain and sewage diversion, reducing operation and maintenance costs and management complexity, and facilitating rainwater system management. Based on the concept of surface drainage, the overall planning idea and hierarchical planning strategy aim to establish a three-level surface drainage system comprising site surface drainage-municipal open ditch drainage-river green corridor drainage. Taking a district in Shenzhen as an example, a regional?level surface drainage system planning and construction plan was proposed, and accompanied by a comprehensive benefit analysis.
