- The leather waste and sludge from the sewage treatment plant in a fur company in Central China were originally disposed by landfill mode, but there were many drawbacks that affect the normal operation of the company. The mixed incineration of sludge and leather waste was determined to be the most appropriate disposal process after analyzing a variety of sludge mixed incineration cases and the properties of the treated materials. The disposal route and layout plan of leather pretreatment, sludge drying, incineration and flue gas purification were determined based on the theoretical analysis of combustion conditions. According to the carbon emission reduction calculation, the mixed incineration will reduce carbon dioxide emission by approximately 75 940 t/a compared with the original landfill disposal process. The self-sustaining combustion was achieved in the trial operation stage, and the flue gas was emitted after meeting the discharge standard, indicating that the scheme basically met the design requirements of sludge (including other leather mixtures) reduction, stabilization and innocuity.
