- By examining the characteristics of thickened sludge from a waterworks with Beijiang River as the source water, the performance of walking plate and frame filter press on sludge dewatering was explored. The utilization of cationic, low-ionic, and powdered polyacrylamide as agents for sludge conditioning significantly enhanced the dewatering efficiency of the plate and frame filter press. Simultaneously, for concentrated sludge with a solid content of 5%, the recommended diaphragm squeezing time was 35 minutes when the feeding time was 10 minutes, the feeding pressure was 0.5 MPa, and the diaphragm squeezing pressure was 1.5 MPa.
