- Abstract:
- Aiming at the issue that the low turbidity raw water contaminated by ammonia nitrogen and manganese resulted in the increase of the chroma of the product water, the cause analysis and simulation test confirmed that the increase in the chroma of the product water was attributed to the oxidation of Mn2+ to MnO2 in the filtered water due to the elevated dosage of NaClO. To solve the chroma issue resulting from manganese, the manganese in raw water with low turbidity could be effectively removed by adding 0.30 mg/L of KMnO4 and 4 mg/L of powdered activated carbon while keeping the dosage of NaClO unchanged. Based on the test outcomes, the production test was conducted, and the effluent quality met the requirements after several days of operation.
