- Abstract:
- The Huangxiao River and Jichang River Project in Wuhan has the largest combined sewer overflow (CSO) regulation and primary enhanced treatment facilities in China. Of which, the Jichang River CSO storage tank and primary enhanced treatment plant are used to treat the CSO that accumulates at the beginning of the Jichang River open channel during the rainy season. It has a storage capacity of 10×104 m3 and a primary enhanced treatment capacity of 4 m3/s. Fine grid, aerated grit chamber, high efficient sedimentation tank, precision filtration equipment, and ultraviolet disinfection processes are employed in this facility. The system is characterized by a small footprint, intermittent operation and fast start-up. According to the operation results, the average effluent concentrations of COD, SS, and TP are 53.07 mg/L, 4.28 mg/L and 0.35 mg/L, and the removal rates are 28.9%, 92.2%, and 72.8%, respectively. The effluent quality consistently satisfies the design standards, and the comprehensive operating cost is 0.363 yuan/m3.
