- Abstract:
- A single-point internal standard method was established for the determination of 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB) and geosmin (GSM) concentrations in water. With a detection time of approximately 10 minutes per sample during continuous injection, this method offers the possibility of integrating the detection indicators for the two substances into the hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) system. Taking four water treatment plants in Shenzhen as examples, it was proved that the detection method was applicable to water bodies of water treatment plants with different processes. Meanwhile, the integration of 2-MIB and GSM indexes into the HACCP system of various water treatment plants was discussed, which can offer a reference for water quality management in the water supply industry.
