- In order to accurately assess the condition of water supply pipelines during peak mixed industrial and residential water usage and the feasibility of multiple waterworks joint scheduling, a hydraulic model of a water supply system in a new industrial city in Changsha was established based on WaterDesk and calibrated using meter reading data, instantaneous water supply of waterworks, and on-site measured data. After calibration, the model was applied to analyze the water usage contradiction between existing industrial enterprises and residents, as well as to identify problems in the water supply system during the shutdown of old waterworks in central areas. Based on the analysis, pipeline modification, simulation of joint scheduling of multiple waterworks, locations for new waterworks, and water pressure values were proposed, which could provide guidance for pipeline modification and the construction of new waterworks.
