- A wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Suzhou adopts bioprocess intelligent control system to enhance the precision control of the biological reaction tank. The control system is customized based on ASM model, which can calculate real-time optimal setpoints for dissolved oxygen, internal recycle rates, and carbon source dosages in different zones by instruments installed in the biological reaction tanks. It coordinates the control of equipment such as the blower, return pump, and dosing pump to automate aeration, internal recirculation, and carbon source dosing. Through automated control, it’s possible to ensure compliant treated water effluent. The adjustable range of the blower emerges as a critical factor affecting the efficacy of dissolved oxygen control.
