- Abstract:
- The Guishan Island seawater desalination project in Zhuhai, with a design capacity of 1 000 m3/d,employs a process flow that includes micro-coagulation filtration, multi-media filtration, two-stage precision filtration, and reverse osmosis(with partial secondary treatment). The desalinated water is primarily fed into the Guishan Reservoir, where it mixes with reservoir water before undergoing further treatment at a water treatment plant for external supply. A portion of the product water is subjected to secondary desalination, purification, and disinfection to produce bottled and barreled water. System operation indicates that the average recovery rate of the first-stage reverse osmosis is 43.37%, the average desalination rate is 98.25%,and the specific power consumption is 3.30 kW·h/m3. Although the recovery rate is relatively low,the desalination rate and specific power consumption meet the design expectations. During the trial production period, the project produced 67 641.9 m3 of water, accounting for 39.34% of the island’s annual water supply. This effectively replaced water transported by ship, alleviated the shortage of freshwater resources, and reduced water supply costs.
