- Abstract:
- In recent years, an increasing number of cities have begun to place greater emphasis on the collection and treatment of initial rainwater to further enhance the quality of the water environment. Initial rainwater storage and regulation facilities have emerged as the primary engineering measures for controlling initial rainwater runoff pollution, and their construction forms vary significantly based on the specific site conditions. The design capacity of the initial rainwater storage box culvert project of a rainwater pumping station in Shanghai is 16 600 m3. The storage box culvert was ingeniously integrated into the space beneath the 224-meter-long outlet box culvert. A bidirectional flushing mode was strategically arranged in conjunction with the tank configuration to enhance operational efficiency. Maintenance access holes and venting facilities were arranged through the space created by the storage box culvert protruding from the outlet box culvert. Deodorization employed a three-stage combined process, enabling flexible adaptation to varying odor concentrations. Through optimized design, the footprint area was further reduced, effectively lowering both the project cost and the operation and maintenance expenses after completion. This enhancement enables initial rainwater storage and regulation facilities to achieve their environmental, social, and economic benefits in a more efficient and low-carbon manner.
