- Abstract:
- Ultra-filtration membrane (UFM) is currently a widely used advanced treatment process. In response to the demand for capacity increase of UFM waterworks that does not have expansion conditions, taking the transformation of a UFM advanced treatment waterworks in the southern region as a case, the UFM capacity was further released by replacing the suction pump. New clean water tanks were built to increase the storage volume, and the disinfectant addition was optimized to maintain the uniformity of the disinfectant. The automatic control system was optimized to link the processes and to improve automation degree, so that the activated carbon tank and UFM tank could be automatically started and stopped according to the liquid level of the clean water tanks, for maintaining stable operation and reducing manual operation. After the transformation, the waterworks’ water production and water supply capacity have been tapped by 15%, and the production and operation have been stable and up to standard. Some indicators were superior to the Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB 5749-2022), Water Quality Standards for Fine Drinking Water (CJ 94-2005). The total investment was controlled at 2.6 million yuan, and basically fewer people on duty have been achieved. It could provide technical reference for potential tapping and transformation of related waterworks.
