Abstract:
Currently, Chengdu is accelerating the construction of livable, business-oriented, and aesthetically pleasing villages, aiming to present an improved image of Chinese path to modernization with thousands of meteorological villages, particularly for rivers in vast rural areas. This initiative is focused on building the“Tianfu Blue Web” and promoting the Tianfu water culture brand, positioning Chengdu as a model of a happy river. This article is based on the Baimo River, a typical rural river in Chengdu, and takes the surrounding towns and villages along the river as the research object. Adopting an overall technical route of “watershed coordination, township zoning, and differentiated policies”, it highlights problem orientation and systematically explores the comprehensive river improvement strategy. The findings provide practical experience for the comprehensive river improvement work in the Chengdu plain and other similar rural rivers in China.
