- Abstract:
- This study developed an experimental setup to simulate the sewage interception efficiency of rainwater inlets under storm conditions by integrating the rainfall characteristics of Nanjing City, the pollutant characteristics of road runoff, and the distribution of pollution-intercepting rainwater inlets in South New Town. The pollutants filtering and discharge capacities of these inlets were investigated by artificially generating road runoff and experimentally simulating the discharge patterns of pollution-intercepting rainwater inlets. Additionally, the pollution-intercepting device was optimized by enhancing its physical interception and adsorption capabilities. The test device and methodology were both feasible and reasonable. The pollution-intercepting rainwater inlet demonstrated the capability to preliminarily filter road runoff during storm events. Following optimization, the device was fully capable of meeting the requirements for urban road rainwater drainage, with a significantly enhanced capacity for intercepting pollution.
