- Abstract:
- The experiment was carried out in the denitrification deep bed filter at Tong’an Water Purification Plant in Xiamen to theoretically verify the local designed parameters of the filter bricks, evaluate the empirical feasibility, and assess the uniformity of water and air distribution. A computational grid model was developed to simulate the distribution of water and air through filter bricks located at the bottom of the filter, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were conducted to analyze the aeration process in backwashing. The water and air distribution system located at the bottom of the filter ensured uniform dispersion of air and water across the entire filtration plane, thereby enhancing the backwashing efficiency. With an optimized layout design, this system provides technical support for project installation and construction, enabling visual simulation of aeration performance in engineering applications and preventing the need for secondary adjustments of water and air distribution during actual implementation.
