- In order to improve the quality and efficiency of the discharged water, and to comply with environmental protection requirements, Shanghai X Waterworks has carried out dredging, renovation, and optimization of the sludge water treatment system. The key factor affecting the discharge water quantity, water quality, and operating costs through research on operating conditions is whether the backwash water of the sand filter is reused. By analyzing the monitoring data of discharged water quality, the water quality risk point is determined to be NH3-N. By using the inflection point chlorination method to reduce NH3-N, sodium hypochlorite was added to the sewage regulating tank according to a chlorine ammonia ratio of 10∶1, and the operating mode was adjusted. NH3-N remained stable at around 0.3 mg/L in the discharged water, and the cumulative emissions of NH3-N, COD, and discharged water were all lower than the permitted discharge amount. Conduct a comparative analysis of water consumption, energy consumption, and chemical consumption to save 918 yuan/d.
