- In order to improve the effluent standard of the former Chengbei wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Foshan, meet the requirements of water environmental protection, build a public leisure and entertainment place in combination with the scenic belt along the river, and reduce the NIMBY effect, Chengbei WWTP is rebuilt into an underground WWTP with treatment capacity of 10.0×104 m3/d. The effluent quality should comply with the stricter values of the first level A limit specified in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002), Discharge Limits of Water Pollutants (DB44/26-2001) of Guangdong Province, and Discharge Standard of Water Pollutants in Watershed of Fenjiang River (DB44/1366-2014). Among them, the ammonia nitrogen is executed at 1.5 mg/L. The process adopts pretreatment, composite A/A/O sludge film mixing process, rectangular peripheral-feed peripheral-overflow secondary sedimentation tank and magnetic flocculation high-efficiency sedimentation tank process, and all effluent indicators stably reached standards. As the first underground WWTP in Foshan, the above-ground area is used as an open landscape park except for the integrated office area of the WWTP.
