- Abstract:
- This study focuses 12 regulating storage tanks in Shanghai as the research subjects. Operation data and manual dredging records from January 2022 to December 2023 were collected to evaluate the performance of different flushing modes in these tanks. Two indicators were proposed: the sedimentation regulation volume ratio and the average sedimentation depth. Based on the collected data, these two indicators were calculated for each tank. The performance of different flushing methods was compared with that of manual dredging, and the advantages and disadvantages of various flushing techniques, as well as the influence of drainage systems on flushing effectiveness, were analyzed. The findings indicate that all flushing methods are effective. Among them, continuous trench flushing performs the best, while submersible pump stirring and water jet flushing also show favorable dredging effects. The performance of the gate flushing system varies significantly, highlighting the importance of equipment selection. In contrast, the hydraulic flushing flip bucket method is relatively less effective, and its use is recommended to be reduced. Additionally, the average sedimentation volume ratio and average sedimentation depth show little correlation with the type of drainage system.
