- Against the backdrop of the emerging engineering education initiative and the digital transformation of education, in response to the problems of traditional teaching that emphasizes theory over practice and technology over value, this research proposes a reform pathway characterized by “digital intelligence-driven innovation with ideological and political guidance”, with the digital and intelligent construction of the course Water Quality Engineering Ⅰ as the main line. Based on the Chaoxing learning platform, a knowledge graph integrating basic knowledge and cutting-edge introductions was built. An innovative blended teaching model of “digital intelligence resource support-online to offline linkage-artificial intelligence (AI) precise empowerment” was established. A digital-intelligent teaching ecosystem was constructed by combining virtual simulation, BIM (building information modeling) modeling, 3D (three dimensional) printing, and AI-assisted tools. Furthermore, through the combination of vertical historical inheritance and horizontal international benchmarking, a dual line ideological and political education framework was formed to achieve a deep integration of ideological and political elements with professional content. Practice shows that this teaching model has significantly improved students’ engineering practice ability, innovative thinking, and sense of social responsibility, achieving positive outcomes in subject competitions, innovation projects, and overall educational effectiveness. It provides reference for the digital-intelligent construction of similar courses.
