- Abstract:
- A large scale waterworks with a capacity of 20×104 m3/d has been constructed in Guiyang. To address constraints posed by limited land and complex terrain, a 40-meter-high elevated platform scheme was adopted, forming a three-story structure supported by pile columns. The elevation drop was effectively utilized to achieve a full gravity-driven water supply. The architectural components were seamlessly integrated and stacked to optimize land utilization, as well as align with site conditions. The land-use index was as low as 0.15 m2/(m3·d-1). The facade of the waterworks incorporated multi-layered greenery and glass curtain walls, which could balance aesthetic appeal with environmental sustainability. The implementation of this project has significantly enhanced the safety and stability of the city’s water supply, aligned with national green-development requirements, and delivered notable social and economic benefits.
