- Abstract:
- In coastal areas, drainage pipes are exposed to high-salinity and high-humidity environments for extended periods, where traditional concrete and reinforced concrete pipes are prone to corrosion and deterioration, compromising system safety. To enhance the durability of drainage pipes, this study utilized engineered cementitious composites (ECC) to fabricate drainage pipes and conducted compressive, tensile, and external load-bearing tests under simulated seawater conditions. The results show that after 270 days of seawater immersion, ECC pipes achieved a compressive strength of 56.1 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 4.70 MPa, and maintained a ductility of 0.8%. The external load-bearing capacity exceeded the standard requirements of class Ⅲ reinforced concrete pipes. Without requiring steel reinforcement, ECC pipes demonstrated excellent cracking resistance and load-bearing performance, along with outstanding durability and engineering adaptability in severely corrosive and high-humidity environments.
