- In the context of “dual-carbon”, carbon emissions and carbon reduction have received more and more attention. Urban water system is one of the main sources of urban carbon emissions, and a large amount of carbon emissions will be generated in the process of water intake, transportation and water use, etc.. It is necessary to study and analyze the carbon emissions in the whole process and each link of urban water system. Taking the water system of Weifang as an example, this paper systematically constructed the theoretical research framework and method of carbon emissions for urban water system, calculated the carbon emissions of each link of the water system, analyzed the carbon emission characteristics and influencing factors of different links, and put forward carbon emission reduction measures and suggestions from the aspects of water-saving and energy-saving system mechanism, low-carbon design, pipe network layout and other aspects. The results indicate: in terms of carbon emissions in each link of urban water system, carbon emissions from water use system > carbon emissions from water supply system > carbon emissions from water intake system, accounted for 89.64%, 8.28% and 2.08% of carbon emissions in the whole process, respectively. Carbon emissions from residential water use were the largest, accounting for 50.84% of carbon emissions in the whole water system, followed by carbon emissions from industrial water. It accounts for 25.84% of the carbon emissions of the whole water system.
