- In order to control the initial rainwater pollution and further improve the water quality of the receiving water bodies, cities have invested heavily in implementing initial rainwater storage projects. In areas with concentrated rainwater drainage systems, linear pipelines are constructed to collect and store initial rainwater, facilitating the connection of multiple drainage systems and achieving the goal of joint storage of multiple systems. This is beneficial for land conservation and enhancing system resilience. But if the intensity of urban development is high, the construction process of regulating and storing pipelines will need to overcome many difficulties such as route layout, obstacle crossing, inflow energy dissipation, flushing and anti-corrosion, and linkage control. Taking the initial rainwater treatment project in the Jinqiao area of Pudong, Shanghai as an example, this paper summarizes the solutions to the above related problems in the design process of the project, providing reference for similar project planning and design.
