- Abstract:
- To address the issues of high concentration of refractory organic compounds in the influent, deteriorated performance of activated sludge, and excessive chroma in the effluent resulting from the increasing proportion of cotton textile, chemical fiber and printing and dyeing wastewater, an upgrading and reconstruction project centered on “power activated carbon treatment (PACT) bioaugmentation + dissolved air flotation + ozone oxidation” was carried out at a wastewater treatment plant in an economic development zone of Zhejiang Province. The results demonstrate that the system exhibits significantly enhanced resistance to shock loading, and the settling property of activated sludge in the biological tank is remarkably improved, with an average reduction of 34.6% in sludge volume index (SVI). The effluent chroma is stably controlled at 4-8 dilution times. The main indicators including COD, ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen and total phosphorus consistently meet the limits specified in table 1 of Discharge Standard of Major Water Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (DB33/2169-2018) of Zhejiang Province, while other indicators comply with the grade A standard of Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB 18918-2002).
