- Abstract:
- This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of urban overflow pollution control technologies and proposed a set of comprehensive solutions encompassing five links: precise storage, pre- treatment, rapid purification, biochemical treatment, and advanced treatment. In this paper, we recommend three kinds of overflow pollution control processes: emergency rapid purification, high-quality rapid purification, and long-term high-quality operation and maintenance. The practical engineering application results indicated that the emergency rapid purification process could effectively remove SS, TP, and COD, effluent quality thereby complies with the first level B discharge standard specified in the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant(GB 18918-2002). For high-quality rapid purification and the high-quality long-term operation and maintenance processes exhibited excellent removal performance for TP, COD, and NH4+-N, and the effluent water quality met the first level A discharge standard of GB 18918-2002 and the quasi-Ⅳ surface water quality standard (excluding TN) specified in the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB 3838-2002), respectively. Additionally, equipped/prefabricated sewage treatment plants demonstrated significant advantages in controlling overflow pollution. Their area, construction period, electricity consumption, investment, and operating costs were significantly lower than those of traditional sewage treatment plants. They could also operated and maintained stably in both rainy and dry seasons.
