Aerobic granular sludge technology has attracted much attention because of its good sedimentation performance, large biomass and resistance to impact load. Through research and literature analysis, development of the aerobic granular sludge in the pilot scale and practical application was combed. This paper focused on the reactor volume, treatment process, seed sludge, raw water quality, sludge concentration, particle size, SVI and other technical parameters. The typical cases of pilotscale test and application were expounded. The key issues and mechanism of these cases with aerobic granular sludge process were summarized. Some suggestions on engineering design and operation were put forward, as well as the development direction in the future.
