- To address the challenges of low influent concentration and significant variations of influent volume at a sewage treatment plant in a district of Nanchang, this study measured, monitored, and analyzed the current situation and water quality and quantity of the sewage pipe network system. Key issues identified include incomplete coverage of the pipe network, low concentration of industrial sewage, intermittent sewage discharge from universities, and the mixing of clean water into the sewage system. Targeted treatment measures and systematic treatment plans were proposed, focusing on comprehensive sewage collection, transmission, distribution, and capacity enhancement to meet treatment demands. The effects and limiting factors of improving sewage system quality and efficiency were also assessed. In particular, analyzing and treating industrial wastewater, and university sewage and integrating new pipe networks in unbuilt areas offer important guidance for improving sewage quality and efficiency and serve as a reference for sewage system treatment in similar regions across southern China.
