- Abstract:
- This study analyzed the effects of ultra-micro aeration and blast aeration on sediment overlying water quality, reoxygenation rate, and microbial community diversity in a laboratory experiment, so as to investigate the inhibition effect of ultra-micro aeration on the release of endogenous pollutants in black odorous water bodies. The TOC and NH3-N in black odorous sediment were significantly reduced through aeration, with reduction efficiencies of 71.01% and 48.66%, respectively. These reduction efficiencies were higher compared to those observed in the blast aeration group. Under full aeration conditions, the concentration of odorous compounds in the overlying water was reduced to below the detection limit. The ultra-micro aeration exhibited superior persistence in water reoxygenation due to the characteristics of extended retention time of ultra-micro bubbles in water and its enhanced adhesion to the bottom sediment surface. Furthermore, the ultra-micro aeration significantly decreased the abundance of anaerobic microorganisms in the sediment while increasing the abundance of aerobic microorganisms such as Desulfobacterota and Acidobacteriota. This shift effectively mitigated and inhibited the release of endogenous pollutants within the river.
