- Abstract:
- The urban drainage system constitutes a critical infrastructure for sustaining water environmental quality. However, the misconnection and leakage issues within the separate sewer drainage system in the old urban area hinder the full realization of effective rainwater and sewage diversion. This results in several challenges, including sewage overflow, black and odorous river water, reduced COD entering wastewater treatment plants, and increased operational demands on pumping stations. In this study, a municipal sewage pumping station scheduling technology for a drainage area in Zhenjiang City was developed by integrating SWMM with NSGA-Ⅱ algorithm. The impact of rainfall infiltration on domestic sewage was simulated by integrating sub-catchment areas into the sewage network and regulating the proportion of impermeable surfaces. Under continuous rainfall scenarios, the optimal starting depth strategy for the pumping station was determined through algorithmic optimization. Following optimization, the influent COD of the wastewater treatment plant was increased to 250 mg/L. This resulted in a 26.2% reduction in the accumulation time of node water, a 20.0% decrease in the energy consumption of the pumping station, and an improvement in the operational performance of the drainage system.
