- Abstract:
- In this study, two sets of upflow anaerobic sludge bed (UASB) reactors (R1 and R2) were used to construct a sludge-biofilm composite system with polyurethane and biochar fillers, respectively, and its Anammox performance was explore under low nitrogen loading conditions (NH4+-N=50 mg/L, NO2--N=60 mg/L, HRT=9 h) . The results showed that Anammox was successfully initiated in both systems. After adding organic matter, the TN removal rate of R1 reactor stably increased to 69.88%, while the TN removal rate of R2 reactor decreased from 67.61% to 55.16%. The results of 15N stable isotope tracer test showed that the Anammox activity of R1 was significantly higher than that of R2. The main components of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in the two reactors were tyrosine and tryptophan. Microbial analysis showed that Candidatus_Brocadia and Candidatus_Jettenia were the dominant Anammox genera. After adding organic matter, the relative abundance of denitrifiers (such as Denitratisoma and Thauera) in R2 increased significantly, which was speculated to be related to the proliferation of denitrifiers promoted by biochar, and this change affected the Anammox activity.
