- Abstract:
- With the advancement of national strategies for underground space development, the pipe jacking method is increasingly applied in extremely hard rock formations due to its trenchless advantages. However, incidents such as pipe jamming and deviation from the design axis frequently occur during construction. The safety and efficiency of pipe jacking critically rely on precise monitoring technologies. This paper focuses on key monitoring technologies for steel pipe jacking in extremely hard rock. It systematically analyzes the challenges posed by complex geological conditions, such as interbedded hard and soft layers and full-face hard rock, to sensor performance. These challenges include high-frequency vibration interference, rock cutting contamination, and sealing failures. Combining theoretical analysis with engineering case studies, the paper proposes optimized sensor design and deployment strategies. The effectiveness of vibrating wire strain gauges, earth pressure cells, and pore water pressure transducers in multi-parameter collaborative monitoring is validated through actual projects. The research results demonstrate that real-time monitoring data enables the dynamic optimization of jacking parameters, improving jacking efficiency while significantly reducing the risk of pipe segment damage and disturbance to the surrounding strata. This paper verifies the crucial role of monitoring systems in pipe jacking construction within extremely hard rock, providing an important safeguard for the safe and smooth implementation of pipe jacking projects and the advancement of relevant theories.
